    SCK•CEN Academy

    SCK•CEN Lakehouse, Boeretang 201, 2400 Mol

The aim of this Topical Day is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for exchanging ideas and discussing recent results related to extreme radioresistance in bacteria to experienced and young scientists working in this area. Special attention will be given to the genetic and cellular mechanisms underlying this resistance and the potential of such bacteria, or their cell products, for applications in environmental biotechnology, radiation protection, space microbiology and medical sciences.

This Topical Day is eligible for 2 hours of continuous professional development in radiation protection for the prolongation of the certification of Medical Doctors for medical supervision (art. 53 Royal Decree 20 July 2001).
